Cafe Max Foster – named after our beloved Max, a gentle old boy who meets and greets the Lodge guests, then gently slips away during service but lives for his breakfast!   As the aromas float from the kitchen day in and out, Max’s nose rises and falls to catch the scent as it drifts by. He never moves from his post – its winter and he’s next to the fire.

Our vision for a Cafe emerged as guests became more and more wanting of great coffee.  It quickly moved into towards great food, at the time breakfast was our focus.  Then the winter arrived and guests asked for dinner and if possible room service.  One thing lead to another …  as it does! We are now a team.  Passionate about eating good food and a few who have both the passion and talent to deliver excellent food.

Featuring locally roasted Gippsland coffee, house-baked cakes and slices and a great range of tasty snacks. Open 8am weekdays & weekends. Dinner by night at Max’s Restaurant from 6pm Monday to Saturday
